Erratum

Apologies. A couple of days ago, I stated that the Swiss government were holding the nuns’ profits from the art auction pending investigations into the art’s provenance.
This was incorrect. It was the Swiss Guard (the Pope’s elite bodyguard) , acting under instruction from the Holy See.
As the art proved to be genuine, here they are, returning it to the nuns’ representative (minus papal taxation).
I’m not quite sure how far they can make the remaining €100 stretch though. I think we can expect further fundraising ideas in the near future.

  1. That Mother Theresa autograph could be worth quite a bit, no? I’m still fuzzy on how did our favorite nun play paintball with the long-dead saint, but if the Swiss Guard bought into it, then I guess everyone else is going to too. tutututu
