FACTASTIC!
The Encyclopaedia Piratical was first published in 1685 and acted as an unofficial guidebook to Naval Officers and Novice Buccaneers the world over.
Later editions have grown to cover topics as diverse as the treatment of woodworm in prosthetic limbs and the identification of mange in parrot feathers.
The original author of the work, Sir Arthur Laudanum Bloodbeard-Jones met an untimely end at the hands of a crazed snow goose which had been driven to the brink of madness by years spent in a barren arctic wasteland, a secret subterranean rain forest and the props cupboard of a dreary daytime soap opera which revolved around the lives of a group of 30-something Trappist monks and their profitable chain of low-cost dental practices.
